How Did Lunara Meet?
Our story began many years ago when fate brought us together. Chris Villarreal and Chris Coté crossed paths almost two decades before the birth of Lunara, and their musical connection has been strong ever since.
Meanwhile, Ryan Lindsay and Jacob Ortiz found each other through their previous band, Reckless High. For a decade, they rocked the stage together, creating unforgettable memories.
It was during one of these shows that Ryan and Kat Freeman, the talented frontwoman of Para Bellum, first met. Little did they know that this encounter would lead to a beautiful love story, as they got married in October 2021.
Fast forward to the winter of 2022, when Ryan, Jacob, and Kat reunited and began jamming together once again. The creative sparks flew, and they started crafting the mesmerizing melodies that would become the foundation of Lunara's music.
In 2023, the time was right to complete the band. Ryan and Kat reached out to their friend Chris V., who they knew from the local music scene. Serendipitously, Chris V. had just posted on Facebook, expressing his desire to drum with like-minded musicians. He brought in Chris C., the universe aligned, and Lunara was born in May 2023!
What Does Lunara Mean?
Naming a band is no easy task, but we were determined to find something extraordinary. After careful consideration, we stumbled upon "Novalunosis" - a word that beautifully describes the enchantment of stargazing. However, it was a bit lengthy, so we tried "Lunosis". Yet, it didn't quite capture our essence. Finally, we found our perfect fit with "Lunara".
